Freshman Transition Program

Congratulations on your child’s acceptance at Pathfinder.  Increasing research shows that in today’s economy technical education is one of the surest paths to success.

We also realize that opting for technical education involves all of the usual adjustments to high school as well as unique adjustments to technical education.  We are offering a four day transition program to help your child with these adjustments. Each session will run Monday through Thursday from 9 to 12, and breakfast will be provided.

Just a few examples of things your child will be exposed to:
Familiarity with building– navigating building, grounds, lockers, security.
Understanding academic requirements of high school – organizational skills, study habits, problem solving, homework habits, and note taking.
Problem solving - Math and ELA
Understanding Vocational requirements – proper attire, safety issues, punctuality, team work, following instructions.
Extracurricular Activities and Support Services available at Pathfinder.

Our experience is that students who fall behind in any of these areas typically stay behind and rarely reach their full potential at Pathfinder.  We believe addressing and preparing students in an uncrowded, unhurried session prior to school’s start may help even more Pathfinder students be successful in their time here.

Please register for the appropriate session by clicking the link below and completing the form. Enrollment is limited and participants will be chosen on a first come, first served basis.  Thank you for your interest.
