School Nurse/Summer Youth Erichment Program

POSITION:

 

• To provide services for students attending summer programs at Pathfinder.
• To provide assistance to the camp coordinator involving tasks related to the summer program.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

• Candidate must have three years of recent experience in active clinical work.
• R.N. Massachusetts Licensed.
• Experience as Vocational School Nurse, Industrial Nurse or Emergency Care preferred.

 

SALARY:

The salary will be in accordance with the provisions of the approved Pathfinder Regional Vocational Technical High School salary schedule - $32 per hour (FY10 rate)

 

TIME:

July and August 2010

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

• Attend to all students in summer programs who become sick or injured while at Pathfinder.
• Keep medical records updated on all incidents nurse has to attend to during the school day.
• Provide coverage in the cafeteria during the Summer Career/Sports Camp for lunch and board game activities.
• Provide assistance to the camp coordinator, involving tasks related to the summer program.

Summer School Coordinator

Pathfinder is offering a Summer School on a self-sustaining basis. The following position is contingent on sufficient enrollment:

 

TITLE:

Summer School Coordinator

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university.
2. Teacher license by Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education
3. Previous experience in program development and administration.
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

 

REPORTS TO:

Superintendent-Director

 

SUPERVISES:

Summer school professional and clerical staff.

 

JOB GOAL:

To provide every student in the district with an opportunity to use some of his/her vacation time in a productive and meaningful program of remedial or enrichment education.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

• Organizes the summer school curriculum for all grade levels in consultation with appropriate members of the staff and faculty.
• Acquires the services of teachers for courses taught.
• Establishes a substitute teacher program of appropriate scope.
• Assumes responsibility for attendance accounting and submits enrollment and attendance reports.
• Makes classroom visits for administrative and supervisory purposes.
• Prepares the summer school schedule and assumes responsibility for registration and assignment of students.
• Recommends promotion or retention of students when their successful participation in summer school program may be the deciding factor.
• Requisitions classroom equipment, supplies, and textbooks, as needed.
• Reports and certifies to proper authorities the grades achieved by summer school students.
• Prepares and maintains required records.
• Prepares and oversees dissemination of publicity and information concerning summer school course offerings.
• Prepares and administers the summer school operating budget.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Stipend position, appointed annually. Negotiable.

 

EFFECTIVE DATE OF POSITION:

Approximately 6 weeks during the summer of 2010.

Summer Youth Enrichment Coordinator 

 

POSITION(S)

To organize and implement a program for pre-adolescents in career shop placements and sport camp activities.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Knowledge of vocational-technical education.

  2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  3. Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Education in a subject currently offered at Pathfinder.

  4. Master's degree preferred, minimum Bachelor's degree required.

 

 

SALARY:

The salary will be in accordance with the provisions of the approved Pathfinder Regional Vocational Technical High School salary schedule, pending approval of grant monies. ($32 per hour FY 2010)

 

 

TIME:

July and August 2010

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs and supervises vocational staff, coaches and assistants as needed.

  • Schedules all pre-adolescents in career and sports activities.

  • Maintains records.

  • Modifies shop activities for pre-adolescents.

  • Resolves conflicts and manages facility utilization.

  • Plans and markets the program in area schools during the time leading up to summer.

2 Electronic Portfolio Assessment Compiler(s) 

 

POSITION(S)

Will compile, organize, and manipulate electronic data to develop Electronic MCAS Alternative Assessment Portfolios for students with significant disabilities. Up to 9 students will be assessed using this system during the 2009-2010 school year.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Proficient in the use of Electronic MCAS-Alt software, scanner, digital camera, and Special Education regulations, modifications and instruction. Possess an understanding of “access skills” and “entry points” within the curriculum frameworks. Be able to use the rubrics as a guide to portfolio development.

 

SALARY:

The salary will be in accordance with the provisions of the approved Pathfinder Regional Vocational Technical High School salary schedule. (32.00 per hour)

 

TIME:

Estimated to be 80 hours per position during the 2009-2010 school year.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To gather evidence provided by others to produce a comprehensive digital portfolio ready for submitting to the Department of Education.

  • To organize and make ready for submission all Alternative Assessment Portfolios required for the 2009-2010 school year.

  • To meet deadlines set forth by the Department of Education.

Auto Body Instructor (Position Filled)

POSITION

Instructor of auto body shop with a schedule consisting of classes in auto body in a four-year regional vocational high school and practical on-the-job training involving 650 students in fourteen vocational programs.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Instructor of auto body shop with a schedule consisting of classes in auto body in a four-year regional vocational high school and practical on-the-job training involving 650 students in fourteen vocational programs.

 

  1. Candidate must be a high school graduate or have a General Educational Development (GED) certificate.

  2. Candidate must have six (6) years of recent (within the last seven years), full-time employment experience in the auto body trade.

  3. Candidate must pass the written and performance tests for Collision Repair and Refinishing, 9-14 Preliminary license, with a score of at least 70% on each test.

  4. Candidate must also have or be willing to pursue the coursework required by the Mass Dept. of Elementary & Secondary Education.

  5. Candidate must achieve a passing score on the Vocational Technical Literacy Skills Test(VTLST) or on the Communication Literacy Skills Test.

 

SALARY

The salary will be in accordance with the provisions of the approved Pathfinder Regional Vocational-Technical High School salary schedule.
