Pathfinder Football has very high expectations for the upcoming 2008 season. 14 seniors return as starters from last years team which will provide experience and leadership. Defensively, we expect to be very strong and our offence has shown it can move the ball both on the ground and in the air. We have a very challenging schedule opening with Housac Valley, then hosting Putnam and Dean Tech respectively. Other highlights on the schedule are Palmer on the October 17th at home and Thanksgiving Day at Belchertown. Depth continues to be a concern but alot of younger players have shown promise. We have a real special group of players this year and expect alot of success from them.'08 Season Schedule
Highlights:September 14- Pathfinder Varsity Football opened its season with a tough loss to Division 2 Hoosac. The team played hard and never quit, and the two D1 Teams which lost to Hoosac in scrimmages both won their opening games. Let's get heathly, regroup and give Putnam a game Firday night when we open at home. September 26- Pathfinder Varsity Football opened its league season with much needed win over rival Dean Tech who last year knocked us out of the Super Bowl beating them 28 - 14. Dean jumped with the lead and Pathfinder dominated them on both sides of the ball the rest of the way. Pathfinder reestablished itself as the team to beat in the Tri County League. Keep the work ethic going and Pathfinder's trademark hitting and the league can be yours. October 17- In a HUGE game, Pathfinder Variety Football overcame all predictions, shut down Steve Demers and soundly defeated rival Palmer High 42 - 20 as we march further on our quest for play-offs and then the Super Bowl. Great win, GUYS, keep working hard and accept nothing less. October 31- Pathfinder Varsity Football fought off a last minute scare from a tough Ware team that refused to give up and held on to a 12-6 win that guarantees us a post season play-off spot. Nice focus, nice effort, nice work. November 8- Pathfinder football never quit, losing 30-28 to rival Easthampton, After a sluggish start behind 30-12 Pathfinder outscored Easthampton by 16 points to almost win the football game with 2 seconds left.
