Ms. Judith Mercier - Therapist

The Speech/Language Therapist has 27 years of experience and provides speech and language therapy to students in Special Education who are on an Educational Plan.

Speech Therapy can be for students who have difficulty pronouncing a sound (misarticulations) . It can take place 1:1 or in a small group.

Language Therapy can be for students who have a language learning disability. This disability can be in:

• Processing

• Expressive language

• Written language

• Memory

• English as a second language

Many other language disabilities not mentioned. Students may be in a small group called Language Support which provides the student time for homework and test taking. A student in Language Support class must have an IEP and a diagnosed language learning disability.

The Speech/Language Therapist is part of a team of special educators that provides services for students.
