SkillsUSA
The 2009-10 year has kicked off. We are still in the enrollment phase for this year. All rosters should be completed by November 15, 2009. This year we had the state SkillsUSA office come to Pathfinder to do a presentation about the benefits of being a member in Skills. Karen Ward, our state director and Nanci Johnson, our program development director, delivered a great presentation to our students with the help from some of the state officers.
Once the rosters have been completed we with hold our first formal meeting to discuss upcoming events. Our first competition will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at McCann Tech in North Adams. More information will follow as we get settled into this year.

Pathfinder Autobody Car Show

The Pathfinder Autobody Skills members put on their 17th annual car show on October 4th, 2009. After the original date of September 27th was rained out we were able to get the event in the following week. The weather looked iffy in the morning but turned out to be a gorgeous day. However, the uncertainty of the morning set the tone resulting in a lower turn out of participants. This years show had 80 vehicles which is about half of the usual number of vehicles that participate. All was not lost though. It was skill a profitable day and the vehicles that did turn out were all high quality. This year's best of show car was a 1971 Dodge Challenger owned by Kevin Kopacz, from Palmer. Look for pictures and results in the near future.
